How to stump an anti-abortionist with ONE question
I just had to post this. Thanks, Arlene!
Isn't logic grand?

no probs. amazing how people never really think things through. I despair for my people!
I also found this quite interesting. I'm a huge fan of logic. The real issues, civil rights, health care, education are always flung to the wayside...
Good video. Am being deluged with trolls today on the Obama and Sarah Palin posts. What is it that is bringng them out in droves!
Whew, Catherine! They are out in droves over there today!
I like to think it's their last gasp.
Obama is making them shove it; and they're trying everything they can to stick it to someone else.
Great Video. Funny how they can't come up with anything, escpecially an issue they claim to be so passionate about.
It is an issue that people feel passionate about. And it should be clear to you that even though these people didn't have reasoned answers, they really do care about the women involved as well as the babies.
It's something that I have thought a lot about. Should abortion be illegal? Yes, the purposeful taking of any life should be illegal, except for cases of self-defense.
Should the women be punished? Yes, but there are different types of sentences depending upon the circumstances. It should be handled on a case by case basis.
There is also the distinction between murder and manslaughter. I personally feel that manslaughter may be a more appropriate description, which makes the perpetrator less culpable due to their mental state at the time.
Our society has claimed that it is only tissue for so long that many women likely do not believe that it is even taking a life -- I assume that most of you posting here believe that. The reason that you see the people in the video waffling on their responses is because they do understand the difficult circumstances that women face regarding this decision. They don't want to see the baby die, but they also don't want to see the mother suffer.
This is why they offer assistance to the women by way of counseling, financial, medical, and adoption services. One of these kind people even let me stay at her house for a number of weeks after I gave birth to one of my sons while I tried to decide whether I was going to keep him or give him up for adoption. He's 17 now, and one of the special joys of my life.
It really shows how much considerations they have put into this. But in some ways it makes me happy, because what they want is not to punish those who have abortions, but to make sure women don't have them. Just like the pro-choice movement. I just wish that it would be by openly talking about se and contraceptives, but with them being holy and there because "God has called upon me" I don't really see that coming.
