Tennessee Republican: Healthcare is a Privilege

Here it is, straight from the horse's mouth (or perhaps the other end in this case):

Apparently, being healthy and having access to healthcare isn't part of being an American.

You have to be of a certain class to get it.

And once again, progressives are the ones who are starting class warfare?

On Planet Republicon Bizarro, it's always opposite day, when they are caught dead to rights.

Of course Republicans and Libertarians have been cross pollinating each other for a while, and this smells like the kind of libertarianism I have witnessed at their local functions:

"If you think that someone deserves charity, then you are free to give that person or family--or everyone your money, land, etc., to help them get back on their feet."

Apparently, their idea is that starving people deserve to starve, sick people deserve to be sick, or wounded, etc., and so on.

Compassionate Conservativism just looks like any other dick when you pull it's skirt up.

Being American and living in the UK I am very grateful for the National Health Service (NHS). Our base tax rate of 30% may be high and helps pay for the NHS. A small price to pay in my opinion for the mental well being in knowing that if I or any member of my family is sick, I can just go to the doctor and hospital and we will be looked after. The NHS is not perfect, but it allows people to take responsibility for their health. No one likes to be sick. If I am sick, I cannot work. I like to work. If I need medical care, I don't have to worry and end up healing more quickly. My daughter was born with an eye problem and she had surgery at 9 months. Because of regular free checkups, the condition was diagnosed early. She may need glasses, but her eyesight is better than most without them.
In countries that have socialised medicine, there is less crime. They pay more tax, but there is less crime. Did I say there is less crime?
People wonder why I do not want to live in America. Hmmmm!
