Healthcare Summit: Ben Stein Style

Just watching the commentators on CNN discuss the core issues about the healthcare summit and this little gem popped out of the mouth of that nob Ben Stein:

[Paraphrasing here]
Republicans *pay* more in taxes than Democrats and therefore don't want their tax dollars to pay for something that *only* Democrats will benefit from.

So, let me get this straight.

The *minority* party (check for yourself in terms of people who identify themselves as (R)epublican) have more money to tax, own more stuff, therefore they should get to decide who gets to live and die in this country?

Rich vs. poor?

Who does he think does the work in this country to put food in the grocery stores, teach our kids, deliver our mail, put out our fires, and protect our citizens? The CEOs and CFOs? And that parties can be drawn upon purely economic lines?

Despite the fact that this is one of the most asinine claims I have ever heard, there's more than a few problems with this whitewash.

Sounds like a monarchy to me, Benny boy. King George would have really liked that one.

Glad I missed this or I would have thrown something at the tv!!! Was trying to watch this am, and finally had to stop....more of the same bullshit from the repugs, and lack of balls from the dems... wasn't in the mood to listen to the lameness...is that a word? Can't imagine this divided group being able to come clean for the American people....the usual hurdle is IDEOLOGY and this proves it still exists!!! bummer...

Ben Stein is a dick. And um, I seriously doubt it. Republicans spawn more Tax Evaders and Tax Rebels, which cost us more in terms of having to find offshore accounts, and having to retrain, and re-arm ATF agents so they can take on Wackos on compounds.

So I am pretty sure that cancels out any *surplus taxes that Republicans allegedly pay over Dems in the long run.

Also Republicans get more Corporate Wellfare. And they get incentives --assuming that is that Ben Stein is mostly telling *a truth. THat means they cost us more in terms of taxes.
